GORGE ACTIVITIES and EATS Reviews
Hood River, Oregon is a beautiful place. Picking Organic: Cherries, Raspberries, Honey Crisp Apples and Dahlias at Hood River U-Pick Organic is just one, fun and healthy activity! We also have pre-picked Heirloom Tomatoes.
I always have lots of customers asking me where they should go after picking at our farm. I have put together a list of activities you may enjoy!
Watching the windsurfers and kiters rip up the gorge is a definite highlight. The road riding and mountain biking are world-class. And just going to the beaches on our hot days is fun! Another tradition is taking kids to the famous Mike’s ice cream. We have lots of great places for dining. And of course, we have great coffee shops here too! It’s like heaven here. I’m not kidding! You will love it! It’s romantic, exciting and simply beautiful America!
Fun activities for kids:
Hood River Waterfront Park:
“Voted the Best Beach in Hood River in 2011″. This beach is perfect for all ages of kids. It has a sweet little playground with fun climbing walls, and other unique playground toys for smaller children and has a larger climbing wall for the big kids. It’s also a great place for kids to scooter and ride their bikes, with an extensive sidewalk that ends at the Events Site. The beach has really nice sand and is shaped like a horse-shoe, so it is much easier to manage safety! There are also picnic tables and restrooms. You have a great view of the kiters and windsurfers from this beach.
650 Portway Ave. Hood River, Oregon 97031
Mike’s Ice Cream is a local favorite for most kids! A cute ‘doll house’ style storefront, with yummy ice cream cones, shakes and more. It is fun for the whole family and a true Hood River experience!

Hood River and the surrounding area has world class Mountain Biking Trails and Road Riding. You can actually start your road ride from Hood River U-Pick Organic and experience some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. It’s incredible! Or just down the road 2 miles is Post Canyon for some fun mountain bike trails!
