Hood River Waterfront Park: ”Voted the Best Beach in Hood River in 2011″. It is about 3.5 miles from Hood River UPick – organic. This beach is perfect for all ages of kids. It has a sweet little playground with fun climbing walls, and other unique playground toys for smaller children and has a larger climbing wall for the big kids. It’s also a great place for kids to scooter and ride their bikes, with an extensive sidewalk that ends at the Events Site. The beach has really nice sand and is shaped like a horse-shoe, so it is much easier to manage safety! There are also picnic tables and restrooms. You have a great view of the kiters and windsurfers from this beach.
